FAQ’s
Find quick answers to your most pressing questions about our whitewater rafting adventures.
Is whitewater rafting safe?
Yes! Safety is our top priority. Our guides are professionally trained in swiftwater rescue and first aid, and we provide top-quality safety gear for every guest.
What are the age limits?
WhiteWater Trips: We welcome children 6* and over to whitewater raft with us. There are exceptions to the age limit, so please call if you have any questions.
Scenic Floats: We welcome children 4* and over on our Scenic Floats, which take place on a different part of the Snake River.
Age limits are subject to change based on the river flow rate.
If you have any questions about bringing your children on either the whitewater or the scenic trips please don’t hesitate to call. The cutoff age for children’s prices on all trips is 12 years of age.
What safety gear is provided?
We provide U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets to every guest. Wetsuits and splash jackets can be rented (for a small additional fee).
Do I need prior rafting experience?
No experience is necessary! Our expert guides provide safety instructions and paddling technique demonstrations before every trip. You’re in excellent hands!
What’s the best time of year to go rafting in Jackson?
Our whitewater rafting season runs from May through September. Thanks to the Snake River’s dam-released flow, water levels remain consistent throughout the summer—ensuring fun, splash-filled adventures all season long.
Peak flows typically occur in June and early July, delivering the biggest and most exciting rapids of the year.
How long do the rafting trips take?
Whitewater Rafting Trips
Our 8-mile whitewater rafting adventures last approximately 3 to 3.5 hours. This includes transportation to and from the river, a comprehensive safety briefing, gear distribution, and plenty of thrilling time on the water navigating exciting Class II–III rapids.
Scenic Float Trips
Looking for a calmer ride? Our scenic float trips along the Snake River offer stunning views and a more relaxed pace:
-
7-mile float: Approximately 2 to 2.5 hours
-
14-mile float: Approximately 3 to 4 hours (timing may vary based on water flow)
All trip durations include safety instructions, equipment fitting, and round-trip transportation.
What should I wear for rafting?
We recommend wearing quick-drying clothes, swimsuits, and secure footwear (no flip-flops, slip-ons or Crocs). Wetsuits and splash jackets are available to rent on cooler days.
